Follow the Leader
“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” ~ Hebrews 13:17
I remember as a child we found so much joy in playing a game called, ‘follow the leader’. We could play that game for hours and it never got old. There were times when we would rest but we always were happy to get started again. It would get so intense that we would take turns playing the leader. Everyone wanted their chance at being in the front.
October is recognized as national Pastor Appreciation Month. It’s a time set aside to honor and recognize the sacrifices, service, and dedication of those who lead, preach, teach, provide spiritual growth and leadership, pray for the well being of the members and community, visit the sick, the list goes on and on. With much respect and appreciation, I honor our Pastor, Reverend Walter Robertson, III. A man of God after the heart of God, who exhibits the true love of Christ, dedicated to calling God’s people back to order while serving with true worship, genuine praise, and a true example of what it means to be a giver as he puts love into action.
I thank God for having a true servant as a leader. Hebrews 13 speaks of love, those who proclaim the word of God, faith followers, and the strength gained from grace. Who are you following? Following the leader, requires one to be obedient and submit to the leader. The leader watches over our souls and is held accountable. We found joy in playing the game as children, and our leaders lead with joy and no complaint, just as we did as children. Be supportive, appreciative, and thankful for your leaders. Trust them to lead and be obedient to follow.
Pastor Robertson, we honor you, man of God, and are grateful to follow you. We don’t just appreciate you in October. We thank God for your faithfulness. Who are you following? Make sure you are being led in the right direction. Happy Pastor Appreciation Month.
Prayer: “Thank you God for our Pastor, who leads so selfless. Thank you for his heart and dedication to ministry. Thank you for giving him the vision to lead with greatness and spiritual boldness. Thank you for the anointing. Please give us the strength to follow the leader as we gain a closer relationship with you. Let the life of the leader not be in vain but continue to be used to call God’s people back to order. In Jesus Name.”
